New Video Games May 12th - May 18th, 2013

Since I write this post every week, I have the honor of bestowing one game with our "pick of the week" designation. What does this mean? Nothing. It's title-only and there is no money involved. Honestly sometimes I forget to pick a game.
Metro: Last Light (Xbox 360, PS3, PC) - May 14th, 2013
Dust 514 (PS3) - May 14th, 2013
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance - Blade Wolf DLC (Xbox 360, PS3) - May 14th, 2013
Anomaly 2 (PC, Mac) - May 15th, 2013
The Starship Damrey (3DS) - May 14th, 2013
Call of Duty: Black Ops II - Uprising DLC (PS3, PC) - May 16th, 2013
What did I tell you about all the shooting? Regardless, I'm gonna go with Metro: Last Light for GR's pick of the week. It's got gorgeous visuals, a whole lot of excellent shooting and stealth mechanics, and naked women if that's what you're in to.

| ZoKnowsGaming: Metro: Last Light Review
Added: 14.05.2013 1:17 | 0 views | 0 comments
ZoKnowsGaming writes "Metro: Last Light is a single-player first-person shooter that has really creative and well-designed mechanics, a tremendous atmosphere, and a great story that works with the gameplay rather than against or in spite of it. Even if you have no means to play the original, Last Light is one of those titles that remind you of why video games are so awesome."

NYP:The metro is everything. Its a sanctuary from the toxic jungle above. Its a quarantine zone where infected and mutated denizens vomit blood on clear plastic curtains. Its a final fortification against monsters that previously only existed in campfire stories. Perhaps most importantly, its a home. One where the last of humanity desperately tries to recreate a life that can never be reclaimed. A woman butchers an animal, a street performer plays a vaguely familiar song, and a prostitute seeks to sell pleasure despite torn lingerie and bad makeup. Its the end of the world as everyone chases yesterday.

Frontburnr: At PAX East, Jonathan White and I had a chance to play a release version preview of Metro: Last Light. While the game seemed pretty cool and the spider-scorpion things were horrifying, the enemy AI seemed equally as scary. There were times where we would find ourselves standing less than 6 inches away from an enemys face while seemingly being completely invisible. We did some pretty stupid stuff while playing that preview, and while the rep there assured us this was a launch build, Jonathan and I expressed our concern that Last Light needed some fixes prior to launch. I find it important to note here, we liked the game quite a bit but the fact that we could breeze through the game nonchalantly was very concerning.

EuroGamer Sweden: "Metro: Last Light is a clear improvement from its predecessor and offers a very atmospheric shooting experience that borders on the survival horror genre."

GRO:Metro: Last Light is certainly not a game for everyone, another shooting from the top shelf, specifically designed for a mass audience. The strength of this production lies in the fact, which are filled to the brim with her guts - in a mature, brutal and ruthless content. No, I do not mean only the same story, which, incidentally, will soon see its implementation in the form of a book, but a whole lot of small elements that make this virtual world is so damn convincing.
